Butterballs from Kathryn
This recipe makes approximately 4 dozen cookies.

1 cup butter softened
1/2 cup confectioners sugar
2 1/4 cups sifted flour
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
3/4 cup walnuts or pecans

Cream butter and sugar, add vanilla and set aside. Mix all dry ingredients and add to butter mixture. Mix well. Shape dough into balls (approximately 1 inch in diameter). Bake at 400 degrees for 12-15 minutes or until slightly brown. Put confections sugar into a bowl and roll the warm cookies. Set on wax paper to cool.
